Aformity now keeps clearer evidence of how customer data was validated and transformed, helping teams review decisions before and after import.

Today we are releasing replayable validation and transformation history in Aformity.

This update is for teams that need more than a cleaned spreadsheet. They need to know how the data was checked, what changed, which rules were used, and whether the same workflow can be trusted again.

Customer data onboarding often moves quickly. A file arrives, required fields are checked, values are cleaned, mappings are adjusted, and a final import file is produced. When something looks wrong later, the team has to answer a practical question: what happened to this data?

Replayable history gives that answer a stronger foundation.

What changed

Aformity now keeps clearer records around validation and transformation runs. That includes the source files, rules, context, plugins, outputs, and evidence used to prepare customer data for import.

For implementation teams, this means a data preparation run is easier to inspect after the fact. Instead of relying on memory or a loose project note, the team can review the path from source file to import-ready output.

The release also strengthens guardrails for reusable cleanup rules. Aformity is designed for repeatable customer onboarding work, so teams need rules that behave predictably across projects instead of changing because of hidden state, unsafe shortcuts, or unclear inputs.

Why it matters

Launch trust depends on explainability. If a customer asks why a field changed, why a value failed validation, or why a record was excluded from import, the answer should be attached to the work itself.

Replayable history helps teams answer questions such as:

  • Which file was used for this validation or transformation run?
  • Which rules and cleanup steps were applied?
  • Which source values were read when a result was produced?
  • Which issues were found before import?
  • Can this workflow be reviewed or repeated for another customer?

That matters most when onboarding work is shared across implementation managers, customer success teams, technical specialists, and customer admins.

Built for repeatable onboarding

Many teams start with one-off spreadsheet cleanup because it feels fast. The problem appears later, when nobody can confidently explain the final file or repeat the same process for the next customer.

Aformity’s replayable validation and transformation history is a step toward a more reliable operating model. Data preparation becomes easier to review, easier to repeat, and easier to trust.

This feature was released on June 20, 2026, as part of the latest Aformity data preparation update.
